Slovak Republic

The Slovak Republic currently has 4 VVER 440 reactor units operating at the Bohunice site. Two are of the older V230 design and 2 of the newer V213 design. The units started operation in 1978, 1980, 1984, and 1985. Click to see photos of typical VVER 440 equipment. Slovenské Elektrárne operates both sites with webpages describing the Bohunice and Mochovce  plants. Two units of the V213 design are operating at the Mochovce site. These units started up in 1998 and 1999. Completion of units 3 and 4 is currently suspended.
